M95 - Barred Spiral Galaxy in Leo
Wed Apr 08 2026
Messier 95 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Leo, about 33 million light-years away and home to an estimated 40 billion stars. I love these barred spirals, because our own Milky Way is one too. Looking at M95 is a little like seeing a portrait of the kind of galaxy we live in, viewed from the outside.
