Moon
Fri Apr 24 2026
The night before I imaged the moon but my focus was on Jupiter and its moons so I wanted to go back and image the moon properly so here we go! this was about 150 subframes and stacked the best 50% of them and merged with an overexposed shot for the background.
About this object
- Type
- Natural Satellite
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite, orbiting at an average distance of about 384,000 kilometres. Its heavily cratered surface, maria, and mountain ranges shift in appearance with the changing phase, when the low angle of sunlight along the terminator throws surface detail into sharp relief.
