Early Morning Moon @ 65%
Fri May 08 2026
Had a nice clear night last night and started a new project! While getting ready to bring in my equipment this morning, I decided to try the moon again with my DSLR and used an intervalometer this time to make getting a ton of frames a lot easier. I ended up with over 1200 subframes at 1/125 and stacked the best 25% of those here. Then, I used 1 subframe for the background at 0.4”
About this object
- Type
- Natural Satellite
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite, orbiting at an average distance of about 384,000 kilometres. Its heavily cratered surface, maria, and mountain ranges shift in appearance with the changing phase, when the low angle of sunlight along the terminator throws surface detail into sharp relief.
