87% Moon - 08/24
Wed Aug 26 2026
I was hoping to set out my telescope all night to continue my long term project but it looked like the clouds were not going to cooperate so instead I used my DSLR to capture about 400 frames of the moon to stack. Here is the result!
About this object
- Type
- Natural Satellite
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite, orbiting at an average distance of about 384,000 kilometres. Its heavily cratered surface, maria, and mountain ranges shift in appearance with the changing phase, when the low angle of sunlight along the terminator throws surface detail into sharp relief.
