Partial Lunar Eclipse Timelapse - 08/28/26
Fri Aug 28 2026
On the night of August 28, 2026, I photographed a deep partial lunar eclipse from my backyard, catching the Moon at maximum eclipse around 12:13 AM when it was as far into Earth's shadow as it would get. It came within a few percent of being total; that thin bright edge along the top is the only part that never slipped into shadow. There was no automation on this one, just me, my daughter, and a remote shutter release, following the shadow across for about three hours. An unforgettable night.
