NGC 7023 - The Iris Nebula
Fri Mar 31 2023
The Iris Nebula, NGC 7023, is a reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus, a flower-like bloom of blue where dust catches and scatters the light of a bright central star. Unlike emission nebulae that glow with their own light, reflection nebulae shine only by reflected starlight, which is what gives the Iris its soft blue petals.
