M16 - The Eagle Nebula - HOO - Work in progress
Wed May 24 2023
Another look at the Eagle Nebula, Messier 16, and its Pillars of Creation, here rendered in a hydrogen-and-oxygen palette. The pillars are dense fingers of cold gas resisting the erosion of nearby hot young stars, and deep inside them new stars are still being born.
