Sat Jun 03 2023
The Crescent Nebula, NGC 6888, in the constellation Cygnus, is a glowing shell blown by a Wolf-Rayet star, a rare, massive star in the final act of its life. Its powerful wind is slamming into gas the star shed earlier, sculpting this crescent-shaped bubble that glows in hydrogen and oxygen.
