IC417 - The Spider Nebula
Sat Oct 14 2023
The Spider Nebula, IC 417, is a star-forming cloud in the constellation Auriga. This is a black-and-white view in the light of hydrogen, and I have a soft spot for monochrome deep-sky images; sometimes stripping away the color best highlights the structure of the gas. It is often photographed next to its smaller companion, the Fly Nebula.
